Rayz Roadshow


We were very fortunate to have Rays Roadshow come to Riverdale School today and teach us about the importance of rules. This was a fabulous treat.

Mr Preet Singh came to visit us. He is from India. He speaks Hindu, Punjabe and English.

In India they have 28 states and 7 Union Territories.

In India they have lots of festivals.

Diwali – Festival of lights (it’s like our Christmas).

Holi – “Festivals of colours” (to celebrate the good harvest)

Basant – Kite Festival



Malaysia

Asmad is from Malaysia. They are 5 hours behind New Zealand. There are two islands in Malaysia – Peninsular Malaysia and Malaysia Borneo. They speak Malay in Malaysia. They have a tropical climate. There temperature is between 20 – 30 degrees. They have rain forests.



Venezula

Shasta Medez is from a place called Caracus which is in Venezula. Shasta speaks Spanish. In Venezula they have the highest waterfall in the world called Angel Falls.

Sri Lanka

Sharini came to visit us today. She lives in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is a tropical country - they have summer all year long. In Sri Lanka they eat lots of rice and curries and they have the best tea in the world.

Brazil


Maria is from Brazil. 191 million people live in Brazil. She lives in Sao Jose do Rio Preto. There are, people living there, compared to about 70,000 in Palmerston North. Brazil is 15 hours behind New Zealand. Maria speaks Portugese. This is the 4th most spoken language in the world.
